Travel

We recommend flying into The Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport then onwards to The Godofredo P. Ramos Airport which is also known as The Boracay Caticlan Airport.

MANILA

If you are flying from Sweden, roundtrip flights will cost in the region of SEK 11,000+. It will generally take you 2+ stops to Manila using major airlines such as Thai Airways, Turkish Airlines, Emirates, etc. and about 18+ hours of travel time.

Note: All travellers to the Philippines must complete the eTravel form (immigration and health arrival card) on etravel.gov.ph a maximum of 3 days before departure. Once completed, this will generate a QR code which must be presented at check-in and on arrival in Philippines.

THE MANILA AIRPORT

If you will be coming directly from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, we recommend giving yourself a 3 hour buffer to clear customs, collect your luggage, and take the airport shuttle or taxi to your connecting terminal.

Update: The Philippine government has recently updated terminal assignments for airlines. All international flights will now arrive at either Terminal 1 or Terminal 3. Please check the links provided to confirm your arrival terminal based on your airline.

For your onward journey to Boracay, you'll need to transfer to a domestic terminal. Please note that the domestic terminals are not directly connected to the international ones, so you’ll need to take the airport’s free shuttle bus or book a ride via Grab (similar to Uber) or a taxi. If you're flying with Philippine Airlines to Boracay, head to Terminal 2. For all other local airlines, go to Terminal 4. This guide will be helpful for planning your transfer between terminals.

Keep in mind that the airport's free shuttle bus runs only once every hour, so unless you have ample time, it’s better to take a Grab or taxi. Philippine traffic is unfortunately a headache, so ensure you have sufficient buffer time between flights to accommodate the transfer.

STAYING IN MANILA

Unless you are a fan of big, hectic Southeast Asian cities, we recommend skipping Manila and making your way straight to Boracay. However, if you are looking to spend a night close to the airport, there are plenty of hotels across the road such as The Hilton, The Marriott, and The Sheraton.

BORACAY

There are several carriers who run multiple direct flights daily from The Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport to The Boracay Caticlan Airport. The flight time from Manila to Boracay is 1 hour and a roundtrip flight will cost around PHP 6,000 / SEK 1,700 / SGD 145 approx.

Carriers:

Philippine Airlines (recommended)

Cebu Pacific Air

AirAsia

Royal Air PH

Regardless of carrier, we suggest booking a flight that departs Manila no later than 3:00 PM to avoid delays or cancellations.

THE CATICLAN JETTY PORT

On arrival at The Boracay Caticlan Airport, you will need to travel by boat from the jetty port to the centralized boat station on the island which takes about 10 minutes. Excluding the port fees, most hotels offer roundtrip land and sea transfers as part of their rate so please forward your confirmed flight itinerary to your accommodation once you have it.

If your accommodation does not provide roundtrip land and sea transfers, here are some companies that offer shared door-to-door transfers from the airport:

Island Star Express

Southwest Travel & Tours

MyBoracayGuide

Note: The following fees are payable to the local government at the jetty port:

Philippine Nationals: PHP 450 per person

Foreigners: PHP 600 per person / SEK 115 / SGD 11 aprox

Children 0-5 years old: Free

Once you have reached the centralized boat station on the island, you will finally make your way to your accommodation by van. Welcome to Boracay!
